How to choose the SMP artist who is right for you

Updated: Nov 23, 2022

A good artist should above all else, care about their clients from start to finish, be honest in their approach to make sure the client is getting what they really need, and be focused and confident in the details of their work. Their goal should be the satisfaction of their clients. If you feel like they are focused on making a sale, you should strongly consider other options. You should always feel comfortable about your decision, and never rushed or pushed... Research is very important and you should always be 100% confident that this is right for you. Do your own research. We are happy to answer all your questions, but take in as much information as you can from other resources like You Tube. Be confident in your decision and make sure you have considered all the solutions that might be right for you. Make sure your SMP artist can give you a proper recommendation on what approach you should be taking to achieve your goals. SMP is NOT always the correct solution for everyone, and a good artist should not be trying to sell you something you don't need or something that isn't quite right for your situation. We will not take in any customers who we feel are not a good fit. Scalp pigmentation is one of the best long-term remedies for hair loss currently available. It is also a reasonably priced option when compared to other choices.

Things to consider

  • Where and how your chosen technician trained and are they certified

  • The technician should be available and willing to answer any questions you might have and you should feel comfortable in communicating with them.

  • Be familiar with your scalp micropigmentation artist and make sure you are satisfied with examples of their work

  • Always check the SMP Artist's Reviews through Client Testimonial Videos or online feedback.

  • How many sessions will your own treatment require? And how long will each session take?

  • Get an accurate idea of the real cost for your procedure.

  • Be realistic in your needs, and make sure you explain these needs

  • Think ahead 5, 10, 20 years... SMP is a permanent solution, so you need to make sure you have a long term plan that changes with further hair loss and other changes that will occur over time

  • The hairline should complement your unique appearance. The artist should be flexible in the styles they can create to make sure you have the best options. The SMP artist whom you choose must know how to create a natural and clean hairline with realism.

  • Make sure you are looking at real results that have not been retouched and show accurate representations of the work done
